NGO Visit for Fourth semester M.B.A, Finance Major (PU&PBS) students was organised at Gaytri Seva Sansthan Udaipur on 6th Feb, 2017.
Gayatri Seva Sansthan(GSS) is a Non Governmental Organisation established in October 1986 in Udaipur district of Rajasthan. The organization's initial interventions focused around promoting primary education in the tribal areas. However, having worked for couple of year in this area, GSS felt the need of integrated efforts towards multidimensional development for sustainable overall upliftment of the targeted area and mainstreaming of the local tribal community. The organization has grown into three major verticals for integrated development of the local tribal population:
· Human and Institutional Development
· Livelihood Enhancement
· Natural Resource Management
The basic purpose behind the visit was that the Faculty of Management provides its students with practical exposure to various Social causes and Philanthropic Activities. The students got to know in detail about procedures like the Establishment mechanism, Funding Agencies, Legal Documentation & Procedures, Registration process and various problems faced by NGO’s. The premise for a successful social entrepreneur as spelled out by the CEO of the organization was that it is all about identifying problems & providing solutions to rural populace by connecting the dots through continuous observation & ongoing discussions. Students got a chance to understand the transformation of theoretical knowledge to practical implications that have a positive impact on the society.
The students were guided by Mr. Chetan Pandya (CEO) & Mr. Neeraj Prajapati (ProjectManager, Livelihood Enhancement) at Gaytri Seva Sansthan.
The students were accompanied by faculty member Dr. Nidhi Nalwaya.
